Silver Maple : Fall time in Canada.
Silver Maple
Canada Geese : I had to climb a tree to get this picture! Got all scraped up...there's more from this set, as I stayed in my natural "bird blind" for about half an hour and got a bunch of pictures of some Blue Winged Teals as well.

Thirsty Cedar Waxwings : I love this picture....one brisk -25C morning, and a bunch of Cedar Waxwings decided they were thirsty, and that the snow in the front yard was fine for eating. It was phenomenal to watch the birds chow down on snow!

Galarucella Beetles : This is my job...I raise these beetles, which decimate the invasive plant Lythrum (purple loosestrife).

My Second Passion : Summer of '07 I was introduced to what would become a new passion....macro photography. I have dozens of pictures just like this one, of flowers, insects, fruits, seeds, just about anything I can find.
My Second Passion
Air Survey : Me in a 4-seater Cessna, about to take an aerial survey of the Delta Marsh (Manitoba) for the noxious weed Lythrum.

Post-Tornado : This is a 100+ foot Pine tree uprooted by a Tornado, and me sitting inside the resulting rootbal. In the Whiteshell area in Manitoba.

It's What I Do : Just checking out a wetland, pursuing a childhood obsession with any kind of marshy area. It never stops amazing me how many different things live in a pond.
